my theory of it being about ME as a parent is gone. he sits with us at the table and has no interest in what we are eating almost ever and it's the same no matter where he is or who is watching him - it's consistent. We eat whole grains and all from scratch healthy foods at home and have for YEARS. I have one champ eater and one who eats a total of about 20 foods (thankfully mostly good foods). Then one day he'll decide to try it and lo and behold, he likes it. He'll clamp his jaw and say 'No" and more recently as now he's older (2 years 9 months) "I don't like that. The kid decides by LOOKING at it whether he'll eat it or not. I again talk with the ped, what to do? He says, don't push it that he probably knows something that we don't about his digestion, etc. FINALLY at 1 year he would eat banana and bread, but nothing else (and breastmilk). I talk with the ped and he says not to push it and he'll eat when he's ready. He's always tries something before deciding whether or not he'll like it and he'll even RETRY foods later to see if maybe now he likes it (and he only dislikes a few items). He ALWAYS ate like a champ and still does.
